PRSA Montana chapter announces first annual Montana Communicators Conference: State Chapter invites PR and Communication professionals and students to attend May 19 event in Helena

KALISPELL, Mont. (April 18, 2018) The Montana Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) today announced its first annual Montana Communicators Conference from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on May 19 at the Best Western Premier Great Northern Hotel in Helena.

The conference is a new opportunity for communication professionals throughout the state to discuss ideas, challenges, and strategy, and for students to meet working professionals and learn about careers in the field.

The Montana Chapter of PRSA, relaunched this year, comes at a time when more entrepreneurs than ever before are setting up shop in the state. For the fourth year in a row, the Kauffman Foundation ranked Montana as the number one state for entrepreneurial activity.

This rise in entrepreneurship spurred the Montana Chapter’s resurgence, according to Christina Ragsdale, APR, a Missoula resident who serves as president of the Montana Chapter.

“Our timing to re-establish the Montana PRSA Chapter, as waves of professionals flock to the state to foster new businesses, is fortuitous” Ragsdale said. “We look forward to building our chapter for our members and the organizations and communities they serve. “

“This unique event is just another extension of the ways we can educate and support each other. We are excited to have the opportunity to interact face-to-face with other PR and Communications professionals and students, and to share knowledge,” added Amber Conger, president elect of the Montana Chapter.

PRSA Chair Anthony D’Angelo, APR, Fellow PRSA will fly out from New York for the conference. He will present PRSA’s strategic priorities for delivering value to its members, all of whom must navigate a rapidly evolving profession to build fulfilling careers. Spotlighting data on what’s most important to members, he’ll provide insights into the society’s strategies for a successful future, based on enhancing the profession and the professional during his keynote speech.

Kathy Weber-Bates from Red Ants Pants will be discussing purpose driven branding with a deep dive into the case study of the Red Ants Pants Music Festival.

Hillary Folkvord, owner of the Sacajawea hotel and author and curator of a lifestyle blog called Lady H, will speak about the importance of harnessing influencers for social media marketing.

The inaugural event will pair impactful speakers with networking and mentoring opportunities and promises to be a one-of-a-kind opportunity for communications professionals across Montana.
